Florence (firenze)
More than ten million people come to this capital of the busy Italian region of Tuscany every year. Julius Caesar founded the city a few decades before our era as a Roman army camp, this is still clearly visible on the street plan of the city. Florence is one of the most important cities in the world for sculpture, painting, literature and architecture. If you want to see all the sights, you have to set aside a few days for the city, if you only have one day then a large part of the highligts can be done, but keep in mind that many tourists walk around in the city during the summer period. During the summer months it is wonderful to enjoy the Tuscan specialties on one of the many terraces in the city.
Florence is also an excellent shopping city, all the major brands can be found here. These are supplemented with unique shops. And of course, as in all of Italy, there are plenty of ice cream parlors to be found!
