San Gimignano
San Gimignano is known as medieval Manhattan, in the past there were no fewer than 72 towers. Not everyone agrees on how many there are now. But they are the main features of this Tuscan hill town. You can climb an ancient tower, admire medieval frescoes and see a fascinating reconstruction of what the city looked like in the 13th century. You imagine yourself completely in the Middle Ages!
Enjoying an ice cream should not be missed, but San Gimignano is also known for its delicious white wine, Vernanccia. If you want to taste this wine, you can do that on the spot, there are plenty of tastings in the area!
