Lucca

We think Lucca is one of the prettiest towns near the campsite, it’s a lot smaller than Florence, but it’s definitely worth it. The historic center of Lucca is completely surrounded by a 4.5 kilometer long city wall, which offers a magnificent view of the city. With its picturesque streets you can still taste the memories of the former Roman settlement. The center is almost car-free, so you can stroll through the nice streets! Did you know that Lucca is nicknamed the city of 100 churches? There are not exactly 100, but the number is very large.
